I love this series.  

They are fun, romantic, and while time travel doesn't always make sense in general, at least here it seems clear enough on the surface, and there are rules set in place so that there are consequences if things are not done properly.  

But... back to the swoony-ness!  Dune.  Ah, Dune.  He was very hot (and smart!! Which I love...) in this book.  Even better, I really wanted to BE Hallie. She was cool, confident, smart...and yet, totally human.  She was a kick-@ss character.  

The setting.  New Orleans. *sigh* Every book I read set there just makes me want to get on a plane immediately.  I really need to see N'orlens soon.  SOON! 

I'm sad that this was the final book in the series, but I was satisfied.  I hope to read more from Myra McEntire someday.

I LOVE this series and these books have some CRAZY amazing covers. I cannot wait for this book to come out! It is already on my pre-ordered list.

Kaleb. Kaleb. Kaleb. Need I say more? If you've read the first book in the series, Hourglass, then I'm sure, like me, you were already half in love with Kaleb.  *THEN* Ms. McEntire had to blow me out of the water by starting this book off with a scene of my piratically-hot Kaleb in an actual pirate costume.  Oh.My.God. I had to fan myself a little while reading.  *Swoon*

Aside from the return of some rockin' romance, some awesome time travel and some amazing plot twists that keep readers on their toes, I cannot tell you how much I appreciated the change of narrator in this book. I loved Emerson and I still do, but Kaleb holds a special place in my lusty thoughts, I mean heart...

Again, I could not put this book down! There were heartbreaking moments, there were spots where I couldn't stop grinning... there was a passage I loved so much that I tweeted it:

"Maybe." The word caught in my throat. How did she see the man that I wanted to be so clearly, instead of the ugliness that was really there?

"Why don't you believe me?"

...and it has another killer ending that is just making me want book three NOW!! Myra McEntire has found a truly devoted fan in me.  :)

What a debut! This is one of those books that I put down and was afraid to pick anything else up...nothing was going to sit right for awhile...McEntire gave other books a lot to live up to!!

That's why this book is getting a GOLD STAR REVIEW!




I loved this book...hot buttered biscuits, did I love this book! It's got adventure, it's got time travel, it's got "ghosts," it's got romance, it's got betrayal, it's got jealousy...oh yeah, did I mention the romance?

In amongst the time traveling awesome adventure is some hot, hot romance. Not only does Emerson have one HAWT soul mate, but she's got another suitor that I just want to reach through the book and snatch up. How lucky can one girl get? The best part...it's not the focus of the book. Yes, you will be fanning yourself at some moments...maybe even drooling, but the adventure and mystery is the real story.

Emerson doesn't let romance get in her way. Not even when things seem impossible to work out in every aspect of her life. The romance is integral and consuming, but also shoved to the back burner when more important things occur. Emerson is one delicate-looking, snarky, tough cookie that isn't gonna let anyone...not even a heartthrob...tell her how to live her life. She makes her own choices.

*sigh* I want to go home and dive right back into this one now...and I hardly have time to reread anything these days, so Ms. McEntire that is the highest praise I can give you! I will be rereading Hourglass soon...very soon...and I will be purchasing my own copy...AND I will be desperately trying to flatten out the (now very mushed) cover poster that I got at BEA to put on the wall in my office.
