Freshman Year and Other Unnatural Disasters
by Meredith Zeitlin
Publication date: March 1, 2012
Let's say you're fourteen and live in New York City. You'd think your life would
be like a glamorous TV show, right? And yet . . . You don't have a checking
account, much less a personal Black American Express card. You've never been to
a club, and the only couture in your closet is a Halloween costume your mom made
from an old laundry bag.
In other words? You're Kelsey Finkelstein -
fourteen and frustrated. Every time she tries to live up to her awesome
potential, her plans are foiled. Kelsey wants to rebrand herself for high school
to make the kind of mark she knows is her destiny. But just because Kelsey has a
plan for greatness . . . it doesn't mean the rest of the world is in on it.
Doesn't this look hilarious and cute? I can't wait to pick this one up...
The year is 2009. Nineteen-year-old Jackson Meyer is a normal
guy… he’s in college, has a girlfriend… and he can travel back through time. But
it’s not like the movies – nothing changes in the present after his jumps–
it’s just harmless fun.
That is… until the day strangers burst in on Jackson and his
girlfriend, Holly, and during a struggle with Jackson, Holly is fatally shot. In
his panic, Jackson jumps back two years to 2007, but this is not like his
previous time jumps. Now he’s stuck in 2007 and can’t get back to the future.
Desperate to somehow return to 2009 to save Holly but unable to return to his
rightful year, Jackson settles into 2007 and learns what he can about his
abilities.
But it’s not long before the people who shot Holly in 2009
come looking for Jackson in the past, and these “Enemies of Time” will stop at
nothing to recruit this powerful young time-traveler. Recruit… or kill
him.
Ooooh! I love a good time travel adventure. Doesn't this sound good?
OMG. It's not too often that I see a book trailer and actually confuse it for a movie trailer, but wow...they did an awesome job on this one. Harbinger by Sara Wilson Etienne, coming out on Feb. 2nd, was already on my TBR list, but this is definitely bumping it up a couple of notches...
Check it out!
I can't tell you how excited I am to read Marissa Meyer's debut book, Cinder!
I had previously posted information about the upcoming Lunar Chronicles series because it is a scifi/fairy tale blend that sounds awesome. Anyway, Entertainment Weekly posted the exclusive trailer here today - and it does a really great job of letting you know what the book's about and still being totally intriguing.
Are YOU as excited about the next House of Night novel as I am?
In Destined, Zoey is finally home where she belongs, safe with her Guardian Warrior, Stark, by her side, and preparing to face off against Neferet – which would be a whole lot easier if the High Counsel saw the ex-High Priestess for what she really is. Kalona has released his hold on Rephaim, and, through Nyx's gift of a human form, Rephaim and Stevie Rae are finally able to be together – if he can truly walk the path of the Goddess and stay free of his father's shadow…
And check out this trailer:

I am huge fan of Alyson Noel's Riley Bloom series! Here's the book trailer for the newest book, Dreamland:
Doesn't it look great? In Dreamland, Riley's finding that the afterlife can be a lonely place when all you do is focus on work. So she goes to the place where dreams happen, hoping to find a way to contact her sister, Ever. She meets the director, who tells her about the two ways to send dreams. As a Dream Jumper, a person can jump into a dreamer's dream, share a message, and participate. As a Dreamweaver, an entire dream can be created in a studio and sent to the dreamer. But Dreamweaving was outlawed decades ago, and the studio was boarded up. Thinking it's her only way to reach out to her sister, Riley goes in search of the old studio. There she finds a ghost boy, who's been creating and sending nightmares to people for years. In order to stop him and reach out to Ever, Riley is going to have to confront and overcome her own fears.
I can't wait to see what Riley will decide to do...
If you want a chance to find out what happens next in Riley's afterlife, you could win a copy of Dreamland right here!

I read The Adoration of Jenna Fox a couple of years ago when it first came out and I couldn't stop raving about it. Jenna wakes from a coma and has no idea who she is...as she begins to put the pieces together, she realizes that something very drastic is wrong. Is she even who her parents say she is?? I was BEYOND excited when I heard that Mary Pearson was writing a sequel, The Fox Inheritance. Needless to say it was one of the top books I was aiming to get at BEA and though I couldn't snag an ARC, I'm definitely planning to read it as soon as it officially comes out! I am officially psyched to read this book! It's gotten great buzz online, the origin story is so cool (it was originally published serially online and then the author was offered the chance to publish it in novel format!) and the storyline sounds great! So, what book am I talking about??
The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making by Catherynne M. Valente
